(More customer reviews)I am a diabetic. I have very little feeling in my feet, and they tend to slip off the pedals of my trike. I bought some expensive Sidi bike shoes and pedals that click onto them, but it's hard for me to "feel" through the shoe, thus making it very hard to center and click on in. Power Grips are wonderful. They keep your feet nice and snug on the pedals, but you can take them out in a second. And... no special shoes, clips. These are wonderful. I highly recommend them. Easy to install (but you must have a metal pedal you can screw the nuts into. they are a brilliant invention. I sold my trike that had them on it, and now, I've got a new TerraTrike, and I NEED to get another pair of XL straps and hardware. I'm ordering them tonight.

OnGuard Bulldog MINI TC 5013TC Bicycle U-Lock Review

(More customer reviews)The OnGuard Bulldog Mini 5013TC is a very strong, high quality mini U-lock, perfect for use in low to medium crime areas. After a long search that involved reading online reviews, articles, and comments on bike forums I settled on this lock as my best choice. It has worked out well.
Any U-lock, even heavy top of the line locks from OnGuard and Kryptonite, can be cut with power tools in a few minutes. Still, those power tools make a hell of a racket, and most thieves want to avoid attention. If you live surrounded by neighbors who consider bicycle theft using power tools to be entertaining performance art, the Bulldog Mini is probably not the lock for you.
For those of us who live in lower crime areas, where the thieves use manual tools, the best mini U locks (such as the Kryptonite and OnGuard minis) can provide protection equal or superior to heavier, more expensive U-locks against brute force attacks. The mini locks don't provide enough space for a thief to insert a large metal bar or a jack, so he can't apply the force necessary to quickly break the lock. The Bulldog Mini is strong enough to resist bolt cutters and the other standard attacks. Still, one should keep in mind that a thief with a good hacksaw, some spare blades, plenty of time, and a strong arm can eventually saw through the shackle of any U lock. It is best to park your bike in a location where such activity would be noticed.
All the Bulldog Mini's surfaces are covered with plastic, to prevent scratching the bike. The lock comes with a carrying bracket that attaches to the bike frame. Five flat keys are provided, including one key with a built-in light. The 3.5" x 5.5" measurement cited in the ad describes the inside of the U locking area, not the entire lock. The lock is large enough to go around a good-sized knobby mountain bike tire and a standard parking meter post. The most recent version of the 5013TC looks a bit different from the old, with a more cylindrical crosspiece and different coloring: mostly black, with some yellow. They are good looking locks.
If you buy a mini lock, consider using bicycle guru Sheldon Brown's lock strategy. (Google "Sheldon Brown's lock strategy" for more info.) According to Brown, a U-lock should go around the rear wheel and through the rear frame triangle to the parking meter or other secure attachment. The U need not enclose any portion of the frame. The rear wheel cannot fit through the triangle, so the prospective thief must cut all the way through the rear wheel and tire -- not easy to do. The alternative to this strategy is to secure just the frame.
One lock alone will not secure both wheels. Another U-bolt would be overkill where I live. I have a 4' cable that I can loop into the Bulldog and around both wheels, but I don't usually bother with it except when there is no post to which I can attach the Bulldog. Cables can be cut by bolt cutters, so they don't provide much security anyway.

Schwinn Women's Gateway City Bike - 28" Review

(More customer reviews)First of all it is very cute to look at. It has fenders, rack and chain guard so it looks expensive. The cream color with brown writing it very pretty. We purchased the bike for our 10 1/2 year old daughter who is 5'5. Yes, I said 5'5. She is tall but young so we wanted something that did not have too many gears that might be a little confusing not to mention unnecessary for her. We rode 10 1/2 miles the first day and she never complained about pain like she did with her mountain bike. She was able to shift the gears easily too. The 28 inch hybrid tires make it a smooth ride. I definitely recommend this bike for anyone who enjoys long bike rides or quick rides to the convenience store! All in all, it's a good buy! Happy riding!!

SKS Hightrek Bicycle Fender Set (26-Inch Wheels) Review

(More customer reviews)Greetings. I ordered these for my Trek mountain bike. Regarding the fenders... as the other reviewer said, they do not fit. Holding them up, I guess they would fit the curve of the wheel, but they are impossible to mount, both the front and the back. The 'clip' is only about as big around as a quarter, very tiny. This may fit a 'road' bike or a fixie, but was nowhere near even clipping on my bike. You wouldn't even be able to force it, it would just break. Also, the front hardware just doesn't work, I have no idea how I would even put it on my bike. I consider myself fairly bright, and the instructions were vague, just 4 tiny pictures of what to do.
My bike is a standard size and shape of mountain bike (26"). At least in the description should be a warning that these are only for 'road' type bikes. This does not fit Mountain bikes OR bikes in the size range listed. On top of that, these aren't actually 'clip' on fenders, they are permanent mount, it 'clips' on permanently.
Regarding Niagara Cycle, they won't refund for a return unless the item is unopened. How would you know if it fit without opening the package, which is really just a bag of screws attached to two fenders that are zip tied together. They were both unfriendly and unwilling to facilitate a refund or exchange for another item. They wanted me to pay for return shipping and also not refund shipping both ways. This total cost would be double what the fenders even cost, meaning if it doesn't fit, you are out of luck.
Bottom line, don't buy these. Poor product, poor description, and poor customer service from Niagara cycle.

Schwinn Intersection Freewheel Single Speed Road Bike (700c Wheels) Review

(More customer reviews)It seems like a pretty nice bike. Assembly was pretty straight forward. Removing the chain guard was necessary because it makes too much noise. I had to adjust the front brakes which was no big deal. When putting the seat on I had to loosen the red reflector so I could put the bike seat to the lowest position. Overall it was pretty smooth when riding and I like it. When I use it more I will probably write a better review.

Avenir Round Spoke Wrench Review

It's a high quality steel product with a relatively high price compared to its competitors, however with free shipping it is well worth it. I'm sure that unless you lose it, this is the only spoke wrench you will need for the rest of your life.
I think the description "Includes universal spoke wrench; chain tool; tire levers; glueless patch kit" was copy and pasted from somewhere else and needs to be updated. I was just expecting the spoke wrench, but it could mislead somebody else.

26-27", Speedometer Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this item from Niagara Cycle Works and received it promptly. Their price was more appealing than RDS Bikes. This type of instrument was common years ago but the older ones were made of metal and had a small diameter metal wheel attached to the spokes. The disc was perforated near the outside edge and a metal gear meshed with the disc to drive the speedometer cable which in turn operated the speedometer and odometer. This made in China product is genuine plastic. While not the quality of the old American models, it operates very well and for the money I am most satisfied with it. It is easy to read while riding compared to the electronic models which can be very difficult due to light reflection. The installation is very simple. Noting a complaint regarding lack of instructions, here is how installation is done: The accessory has 3 basic parts - the head (as pictured above), the drive cable and the drive gear assembly. Starting at the bottom, the drive gear has a metal arm that protrudes through the spokes. This, in turn, rotates a small wheel that powers a gear that rotates the cable that runs up to the head. (it remains to be seen how well this will hold up over time as the remainder of the drive gear is plastic)
Unbolt the front wheel after deciding if you want the head on the right or left side of your handle bars. The drive gear can be mounted on the left or right side of the axle There is a plastic cap that screws on the end where the cable is not inserted, the cable can be inserted from 2 directions, just one is needed, insert it into the top side and the cap goes to the bottom. Unbolt the front wheel and remove it. Recenter the axle slightly to compensate for the space used by drive gear attachment. Slide a washer (provided) onto the axle, the drive gear, a second washer and then reattach the wheel to the fork. It might take a bit of pulling to slightly spread the fork. Position the drive gear so that the cable can go straight into the drive gear attachment, tighten your front axle bolts - but - not too tight as you do not want to break the plastic gear housing. The cable screws in on the top side. Mount the head on the handle bars, screw the other end of the cable into the head and you are in business! One more thing: To keep the cable from snagging onto something, I used a couple of plastic cable ties to bring the cable tight up against the side of the fork. As the handle bars and front fork turn in unison, there is no binding of the cable. Would I buy anogther one? I would without hesitation should the need arise. I have seen replacement drive gears advertised for a few dollars, so no sweat if the drive gear apparatus wears out. Not being interested in 15 or so functions that the electronic models offer, this one suits me just fine. Hope this helps anybody with questions of how these are installed.

It has a near bottom of the line Shimano RD-TZ30 rear derailleur, a front Falcon derailleur / Suntour crank combo, SRAM MX twist shifters, linear pull V-style brakes, an adjustable seat shock, front shock, and an aluminum frame. The seat tube length is 18", the top tube length is 21", and the stand over height is ~28 - 30" (top tube slopes down to the seat tube). From the seat tube and stand over height, this bike is sized for someone with a 30' - 32" inseam.
The bike comes partially assembled. You have to put the handlebars, front wheel, seat, and pedals on. You will need metric size Allen wrenches. The gears were adequately factory set, but the brakes needed to be adjusted.
I purchased it for occasional street recreational riding. For this purpose, this bike is average. If you want something with better components (more expensive) then look at the GT Nomad / Timberline, Schwinn Sierra / Voyageur, or the Giant Sedona.
Pros: Better price than I found at a local sporting goods chain store and free shipping. Amazon shipped it double boxed. Light aluminum frame. Comfortable seat with adjustable shock tension. Linear pull V-style brakes. Adequate for recreational street biking, which is what about 90% of us do.
Cons: Components, but you get what you pay for. Front and rear wheels are not quick disconnect. One size, if your tall or short this bike will probably be a bad fit for you.

However, this product did not fit my bike due to the fact that the disc brakes are in the way, making a good fit difficult if not impossible for this particular kickstand/stabilizer.
There were no instructions and, even though there are very few parts, I think that everyone would like to know if they are installing it correctly or not. Even a photo would help.

(More customer reviews)When I first unpacked the pump and started to use it, I was agreeing with the negative review.
It wasn't working. I too have Presta valves and it just would not lock on. Also, my tire ran flat since it wasn't sealing.
I was at the point of demolishing it when I decided, maybe I need to read the manual.

Once I unscrewed the valve cover, and reversed the internal valve and seal and re-secured the cover, it worked like a charm. Man did I feel like an idiot.
Since it gave me so much frustration (all my own fault too, which makes it all the worse), I thought I would share this with everyone else to hopefully save them the trouble.
And remember kids...RTFM!

PS.
I will say though, that the lock/unlock icons are a bit deceiving because it is based on the motion of the VALVE CONNECTION which DOES NOT MOVE. This may have been why the bad review had issues. For that, I do remove a star. Just follow the feel of it and you won't go wrong.
It also does fill the tire rather quickly, faster than I thought it would and the fact that it can mount beside an existing water holster is definitely a bonus.
I recommend using the larger side of the clamp to hold the pump handle so it doesn't slip. when first mounted with larger clamp on the valve connection, the pump handle dropped into my gears nearly causing an epic collision.

(More customer reviews)This waterbottle mount can be used horizontally (as shown in the product picture) on your handlebars, for instance, or used vertically on your seatpost or your frame, etc. It has a small metric hex/allen screw that can be used to change the orientation of the mount. Other than switching orientation, there are no tools needed to mount this waterbottle cage!
The mount comes with ZERO instructions, which isn't cool, but using it is very straightforward and pretty much common sense.
It comes with a tiny black rubber shim that you place between the clamp (touching the bike) and the frame/post of the bike. This keeps the mount from slipping and sliding around.
The mount is bit heavier than it needs to be but it's due to the clamp and quick-release. The actual cage portion of this product is quite light.
The actual waterbottle cage can be unscrewed from the clamp and used, standalone on bikes that already have braze-ons for waterbottle cages.
On the negative side, if you have a skinny waterbottle it can easily fall from the cage. Also, you have to be careful of the angle at which it sits because the waterbottle sitting in the cage can be knocked loose due to hard road vibration or a really hard bump so mounting it underneath your bike, hanging down, isn't advised.
This is a great solution for anyone that doesn't have braze-ons for waterbottles on their bike frame or someone who simply wants to carry extra waterbottles and have them placed anywhere on their bike.

(More customer reviews)I've used other fork clamp bike mounts in the past and this is by far the best. The locking mechanism gives you some protection from the casual grab-and-dash thief. The exposed cam is huge and allows for loads of travel (i.e. they open wide enough to get past the lawyer lips on your forks). Once you have adjusted the acorn nut you never have to touch it again. Be careful though - make sure the curved plastic washer properly engages the cam. In practice this is easy to do and prevents poor clamping.

Since I found that most other folding bikes have smaller wheels, we had concern about the 26" wheels this bike uses. It turned out to be a nicely designed and built product! We could easily fold it and put it in the trunk of my Acura TL sedan wherever we go. It is light weight, rides great, as steady as my non-folding bike because of the double suspension. My son loves it. I enjoy riding it so much that I want to get one for myself too. The costomer service was excellent. The seller always answered my inquiries extrememly politely, promptly, and professionally.
Highly recommend.

Outback Magnetic Indoor Bicycle Trainer Review

(More customer reviews)I have had this trainer for just under 2 months and am fairly happy with my purchase. I knew going in, that I wasn't going to get a Cadillac (or BMW) for a hundred bucks, but it does a good job of helping me keep in shape during the cold winter months. To give you some kind of idea as to my normal work out level, I generally ride out doors about 2,000 miles per year. With my retired 20+ year old Fuji Palisade mounted in this trainer at high resistance, and top gear on the bike, I can get a full cardio workout.
I used the free shipping option, and received the package a few days earlier than originally expected. Assembly was completed in a 10-15 min time frame, using the instructions included in the box. I didn't need to use the included skewer replacement, as the stock quick release axle on my Fuji fit fine. The paint finish looks great, and the only thing I might have added would be a quick release between the bike tire and the resistance unit so I don't have to re-adjust the tension each time I ride. NOTE: You do not want to leave the tire locked in when you are not riding in order to prevent the tire from denting. Noise is not an issue for me. Sure it make some noise, but it is not so loud that I can't listen to my MP3 player, and the more I ride, the less I notice it.
One final note, if you are going to buy this or any other trainer you really should consider a stabilizer for the front wheel.
