(More customer reviews)First of all, the idea that all bicyclists are 135 lbs and bird-chested needs to go! At 6'4, 260 lbs, and wearing a size 13 shoe, I have a very hard time trying to find cycling clothing. So the prospect of a 49 cm (13.2 inch) clipless shoe called out to me. I love these shoes!
They are very comfortable. The toe box is large enough to allow a little wiggle room, but streamlined enough for pedaling clearance. Regarding the overall fit, I can walk two miles, and save for the slight clicking of my Shimano cleats on the asphalt, I would think I was wearing an old pair of trusty sneakers. The tread is sufficient for my mountain bike rides, which can be pretty slick in damp Tennessee mountains. I also use these shoes on the road. The soles have a good amount of stiffness...enough that I can't feel any uncomfortable localized pressure from my tiny pedals. The build quality seems really good, like these will last. I've ridden 500 miles in them and they still look new. At the end of a 50 mile ride, my back may hurt and my lungs may burn, but my feet feel great.
