(More customer reviews)With a size availability glitch at the Amazon webpage when attempting to purchase them in 2010; the issue was resolved via the manufacturer's website. The shorts overall appear well designed, including padding, and well made. They have comfortably close-fitting inner shorts with padding where you would contact a saddle (chafe included) plus a narrow strip circling each leg-bottom that prevents the inner shorts from riding up. Inner and outer shorts are sewn together at the waist. The outer shorts have two cargo pockets (Velcro closure); one on each side of the legs approximately where cargo pockets would be on a pair of pants. On a 30-in inseam pant leg, size medium shorts end just at the top of the kneecap. The inch wide waistband holds comfortably without the drawstring for a waist at the narrow end of size medium shorts with plenty more waistband stretch to go. The shorts feel light to wear; are comfortable cycling either single track mountain biking or road biking. The outer shorts do not seem to ride up from wind, though I don't get up to 30 / 50-mph. At an approximate 150-lbs body, intermediate level single track woods trails mountain biking, they have sufficient padding to be comfortable (for the times you are actually fully seated). For road biking continuously seated, they are still comfortable during my 20 mile jaunts. The pockets are big enough to stuff a lightweight nylon windbreaker vest if you had to. Just ID, emergency cell phone in zip lock (for slick-rock stream crossing errors) and keys find abundant room and hang out in the pockets in a manner they are not noticed during either cycling style (road / MTB). These casual shorts are comfortable enough and look normal enough; if you have a reason you can wear them anywhere you would regular shorts (absent hand pockets would be a nice addition if it didn't push up the price). You don't tend to feel like you have excess baggage in your shorts due to padding. They are comfortable for walking or driving; but not a hiker's choice. For washing they do well using cool / cold water, synthetics washer and dryer cycles. Originally bought one pair; liked them enough to buy 3 more for mufti-day use (gets real damp peddles push/pulling in southeastern US; weather/workout issue, not the shorts).
