Shimano Women's Mountain Bike Shoes - SH-WM50 Review

Shimano Women's Mountain Bike Shoes - SH-WM50

The product was great and the delivery time was acceptable. What I was not impress by was that the seller sent me the product in a box twice the size of the item and that he used UPS which cause me an additional charge of more than $30 for delivery on top of what I paid him ($20). I find that the seller, once the sale was done, didn't care if I was going to be charge an additional fee (a brokerage fee) or not. Advice, DON'T BUY FROM SELLERS THAT USE UPS.

This handle bar is extremely light and very reasonable price. I got this for my trial bike and it work perfectly . Just make sure you have a big enough screw to tie this baby in , because the diameter is a little bigger than your average handle bar.

SpareHand Bike Frame Adaptor Review

SpareHand Bike Frame Adaptor

I bought an old bike rack from craigs list and my son's bike wouldn't fit on it - the bar was too thick. To top it off, I ride a "girl bike" so mine wouldn't fit either. I was about to give up when I heard about bike frame adapters. This thing is great! It's portable, easily attaches, sturdy and makes my bikes fit on my bike rack. Now I just keep it in my trunk for when I need it.

Fits narrow posts such as handlebars or cross bars at the back, but not the main frame posts. That's why the other screw mounts are used.

M-Wave Alloy Bar Ends Review

M-Wave Alloy Bar Ends
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I ordered a set of these M-wave Alloy bar ends from Amazon, and when I received them, it turned out the product description isn't entirely accurate.
Amazon says in the product features that this is a set of rubberized bar ends made of lightweight alloy, but it is not-- The grips are very hard resin, and the metal is pretty darn heavy. This set of bar ends is at least twice as heavy as the bigger aluminum bar ends from Avenir.
The hard resin grips I really don't like, especially with the pointy ends.It is a safety hazard in a crash. If you accidentally crash into someone with those bar ends, it would be like goring them with a set of bull's horns. That's how hard these pointy-ended bar ends are.
If these were rubberized grips, it would be a lot safer, but it is not.
So, sadly, I do NOT recommend these M-wave bar ends. The Avenir matte aluminum bar ends are much lighter and much safer (blunt ends).

CycleOps Mag+ Indoor Bicycle Trainer Trainer with Bar Mounted Remote Shifter Review

CycleOps Mag+ Indoor Bicycle Trainer Trainer with Bar Mounted Remote Shifter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a pretty good trainer for the money it costs. It does make some noise, but its not unbearable: the TV is still audible.
It was somewhat difficult to set up: make sure your back tire is tight against the roller - if it is slipping at all it will wear down in no time.
Even so, it does seem to wear down my back tire pretty fast, so I am thinking of getting a wheel with a Continental tire made for trainers.
I got the model with the remote, but have not really used it. The remote is hard to set up (both on the magnet and on the bike), and it keeps falling off.

Nema Jewel Mountain Bike Short - Men's Review

Nema Jewel Mountain Bike Short - Men's
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As mentioned by the two (as of this writing, Oct 2010) previous reviewers, the waistband of these shorts does not flex, does not expand as you put them on. It's like trying to put pants on with the top button and fly already closed. I have a 33" waist and ordered the medium. I don't know what my hips measure but they're larger than my waist. It was only with great struggle and jumping up and down that I squeezed my butt through the waistband and got them on. They fit ok then. The problem is that when nature calls on the trails, I would have to again struggle, with the requisite jumping, to slip the shorts down far enough to go. This would no doubt provide great entertainment for my fellow riders. I cannot imagine how they designed these with such a ridiculous flaw. Returned immediately.

Schwinn Magnetic Bike Trainer Review

Schwinn Magnetic Bike Trainer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is my first go around with a trainer. I looked at tons of them online and finally decided just to go for it. This one serves it's purpose just fine, and I bought it for less than $100, and free shipping. It is somewhat loud, but that is just the sound of my tire riding on the roller. If I had a smoother tread it would quiet down. All steel frame, easy to assemble and adjust. I just use my gears on the bike to increase tension while riding. I set it up in my home theater room and watch DVD's (with headphones on) while peddlin away. No more missed workouts due to weather. Highly recommend.

Average Reviews:

Nice road bike tire. Stores other then officia bicycle stores are no longer carrying the 26 or 27 inch tires as they used to. Now they carry the tires scrunched-up in a little box for $13.00 - $15.00. These Kenda tires arrived in large boxes with the tires barely packed out of shape. They went on the rims with no tools whatsoever and appear to be a great tire for the price. Nice refelective side walls and a nice rain-groove pattern as well.

Schwinn Crest Urban Women's Hybrid Bike (700c Wheels) Review

Schwinn Crest Urban Women's Hybrid Bike (700c Wheels)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This bike is a perfect combination of features:
-substantial wheels stand up to cracks and dips in the road
-adjustable handlebars allow for a more or less upright riding position (I love to cruise with a tall straight spine... hate hunching my back on other bikes)
-shocks on the front wheel and under the seat make for a smooth ride despite potholes
-wide comfortable seat doesn't dig in to the wrong "parts"; instead, there's some nice padding under the sit bones
-plastic guard protects pants from getting caught in the chains
I've been riding my new bike to work every day through the city, where I encounter all sorts of conditions; the bike gets me through them all pretty comfortably. Pedaling up hills has never been easier and I don't even have to stand. The brakes are responsive and smooth. This is a hardcore comfort bike.

Topeak DeFender FX Bicycle Fender Review

Perfect, exactly what I expected and wanted. I ride to work in rain or shine or storm and was sick of the water shooting up, had it on in less then 5 min. My bike is full suspension, 26 inch wheels with that horse shoe (U) bar on the lower legs of the front fork and it still fit with no problem. Don't know how it would handle a crash in trees though, sits high like a dirt bike look. People ask where I got it.

Mongoose Lark Girls' Bike (18-Inch Wheels) Review

Mongoose Lark Girls' Bike (18-Inch Wheels)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I would not recommend buying any Mongoose product, sight unseen, period. This is one of two different Mongoose bikes, purchased as a Christmas gifts, with both having the same issues. The bike arrived in the factory box, as Amazon indicates. Apparently, Mongoose has a rather amateurish concept of how to box anything so the contents don't shift around in transit, in this case, resulting in several scratches and paint chips in the brand new bike. Also, one of the ribbed grips was crushed/deformed due to the way it was strapped to the frame for shipping, and it is not rebounding back to the original shape. Nice Christmas gift for a grandchild, right? I contacted Mongoose "customer service" via their website e-mail link and fully explained the situation, requesting touch-up paint and a grip to just take care of the damage myself and avoid gift hassles. Their response? "Contact Amazon if there is shipping damage." I responded back that there was no "shipping damage" but internal damage due to their poor packaging of the bike components. Their response? Silence.
Stay away from Mongoose products unless you want to receive damaged merchandise, fresh out of undamaged factory packaging, due to their brain dead manner of internally "securing" the merchandise for shipping. Of course, it's always wonderful to get customer service from people who have no clue what that means.
BTW, I noted on their website an FAQ which included a Q/A addressing a question about obtaining touch-up paint for their bikes. The answer was "no, we don't supply touch up paint." They further advised going to a hobby store and trying to match the bike paint to plastic model paint. Nice response and product support.

Wald 520 Rear Twin Bicycle Carrier Basket (13.5 x 6.25 x 11) Review

Wald 520 Rear Twin Bicycle Carrier Basket (13.5 x 6.25 x 11)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
i got these baskets off craigslist but these are exactly what i have, with all the same parts.
The biggest issue for me was successfully installing the baskets onto my bike. maybe if i wasn't just a regular ol commuter but a bike tech, or superman, i'd be able to get them on. i have an 18.5" Jamis commuter. the main problem is not the "legs" that attach near the wheel, but attaching the parts at the bottom of the seatpost. it has so far been impossible because once attached, the attachment prevents the back brakes from functioning. in the process of trying to attach, i've scratched up some paint on my bike.
i went to a local bike shop and someone there thankfully devised a solution for $5. i love the baskets!
thus, while i recommend the baskets, you should know that depending on your bike, you might run into a little trouble installing
