(More customer reviews)If you're considering purchasing this item, keep looking. While it may work for some people the unit itself is cheap and looks terrible. The hardware (nuts and bolts) are totally the wrong size and type so much so that while attempting to attach the skewer to the rack, the bolts seized up halfway up the bolt. I had to use bolt cutters to cut the bolts to allow me to release the rack from my pickup. Additionally, the instructions are pretty worthless because they give you images of how it should look not how to assemble the unit.
I've contacted Delta to send me the correct hardware because I don't believe I should have to go by my own hardware for a rack I just purchased.
Spend a little more money for a nicer, better made product. This one is junk.

Get your motor running and head out to your favorite bike trails with the Delta Stableloader rack, which can be used with pick-up truck beds or inside an SUV. The telescoping loading bar system is specially designed for a custom fit from 46.5 to 68 inches wide. It has a fine thread screw adjustment to tightly clamp anywhere you choose against the inside of your pickup bed. Rubber boots on either end help prevent it from slipping. It also features an anti-rotation bracket for SUVs and a stabilizing foot for extra rigidity. Bikes are secured to it much like a roof rack, where the bike's front fork is mounted with a quick-release mechanism. It comes with two lockable fork holders (locking mechanism not included), and extras can easily be added for up to five bikes.

(More customer reviews)I bough two of these new Delta fork mounts for my wife's Xterra (I built my own interior rack using an L-shaped piece of sheet-metal, and attached these mounts).
Pros: In the previous Delta fork mount, getting the arm lined up for the locking position took several tries, but now the new design just goes right into place.
Cons: Once the lever arm is closed, you really have to work your fingers or possibly a tool into the gap to open it. In the end, this is for the best as you don't want this thing opening up without some force.
Summary: Use these to make your own bike rack using 2X6 planks in the back of your truck, or go to the hardware store and get creative with your SUV.....
