Pearl iZUMi Men's Quest Cycling Short Review

Pearl iZUMi Men's Quest Cycling Short
Average Reviews:

I have gone through a LOT of bike shorts. From the $20 specials the the $120 "pro models". These bike shorts feel just as good as the $120 models. IF you are considering a cheapie pair of shorts, please don't do it. Cheap shorts are a waste of money. THESE are quality shorts at a great price. A "best bang for your buck".
A few tips on bike shorts in general that not everyone is aware of. ALL lines bike shorts are intended to be worn without underwear! If you don't believe me, get out your google. If you are going to wear underwear, then don't bother with bike shorts. ALSO, you MUST wash your shorts after every use. Give them a quick wash in cold and hang dry.

Bell Bellistic Bike Helmet Review

Bell Bellistic Bike Helmet
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I ride both mountain bikes and Motorcycles; and learned the hard-way that there is a big difference in helmet sizing depending on the intended use. For Motorcycles I need a 'medium' helmet for my average sized adult head... a size large motorcycle helmet fits loosely on my skull and is therefor not as safe.
This is why I originally ordered a 'Medium' Bell Bellistic bike helmet; only to have it arrive and cause my ears to burn while trying to put it on and take it off for the first time. The good news is that the return was easy and I was credited all but the $6.70 return S&H. I re-ordered the same helmet in the next size bigger and it too is pretty darn tight (considering it's a 'Large' and I don't have a 'Large' head). I decided to keep it rather than return the same product AGAIN for the same reason.
My next disappointment was on my inaugaral ride: the mouth protecting area of the helmet smelled strongly of the synthetic chemicals used in the production process and as I huffed and puffed up a hill every inhalation was laced with off-gassing chem's; seriously detracting from the enjoyment of my ride. I've left it out in the sun and rain and wind for about a week so it's probably "good to go" by now. My advice: Order 1 to 2 sizes bigger than you think you need, and let it breathe before you hit the trails.

The Bell Bellistic Downhill and BMX Bike Helmet is constructed of a multi-layered, hand-laminated fiberglass shell with an EPS foam liner, making it a sturdier, more solid helmet. The Bellistic features a full-face design to give you more complete protection under the most trying of circumstances.
The Bell Bellistic also features an adjustable retention harness, an adjustable visor, and a large eye port to accommodate goggles. For your comfort, this bicycle helmet includes 15 vents that allow cool, fresh air in while letting warm air out. Bell's Bellistic helmet comes in three sizes, weighs 907 grams, and complies with U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's safety standards for bicycle helmets.
Helmet Tips--You Should Always...
Wear a helmet when you ride
Wear your helmet low in the front to protect the forehead
Fasten your buckle and tighten your chin strap
Check your adjustments every time you wear your helmet
Inspect your helmet regularly for signs of wear or damage
Wear a helmet designed for your activity

I'am extremely satisfied w/ this product. It is made of strong and light material and easy to install. It looks great. I purchased 3 for my family needs, and I installed them in a row, at the same height. Approx. 13 inches apart, this way I saved overall width space and I hung the middle bike up-side down.

This JoeBlow MTB pump is built very solid, just like any other JoeBlow pumps. The gauge is very accurate and works very well. This pump requires more pressure to pump since it is a high volume. I can fill about 2 psi per pump on a 26'' tire.

Topeak Aero Wedge Pack with Buckle (Medium) Review

Topeak Aero Wedge Pack with Buckle (Medium)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Ok. It's a wedge. It doesn't really have to do much except hold a few things and fit under the saddle. My requirements were:
1.) Well made--check.
The construction of the Topeak Aero Wedge is solid. Quality fabric on the upper portion; the lower portion (lighter in color in the pic) has a plastic-like shell (to help repel water and dirt). The quick release buckles (for the straps that attach it to the saddle rails) are (relatively) beefy for what they have to do. The pack has some reinforcements so that it holds its shape regardless of whether you have it empty or full. Also, when attached to my saddle, the Topeak Aero Wedge does not rattle or move around too much while I ride.
2.) Holds my stuff--check.
I needed a seat wedge to hold 3 things for my ride--my wallet and cash, my (large) cellphone (Cingular 8125), and my keys. The medium Topeak Aero Wedge does so with room to spare--AND that's without having expanded the thing. I can easily stuff a small toolkit, tube or a wrench or two in there as well if I expand it. If you're stuck for space, there are a few elastic loops on the bottom which are designed to hold a small hand/CO2 pump.
3.) Safety features--check.
My final requirement was that the wedge has some basic safety features. The Topeak Aero Wedge has a reflective strip across the rear of the pack as well as a loop on the lower portion of the rear to clip a reflector or a light to it. I don't understand why so many seat packs out there do not feature this.
Some other features: The interior has a couple of elastic loops across the top, useful for holding a tool kit or a tube separate from your other stuff. The opening flap has a small mesh pocket that you can use to hold money or your keys. The opening flap is also gusseted (small flaps on either side that go up approximately halfway), so that you can open it while it's attached to the bike and stuff won't fall out to one side or the other.
Finally, I chose the "strap-on" version versus the "clip-on" version (Areo Wedge Pack with fixer) because 1.) I feel that the straps allow the pack to ride "higher" and "tighter" into the saddle, and 2.) the quick release tab on the clip-on version seems thin and flimsy and might break off. I don't know if it's replaceable on the clip-on version.
Regards.

Avenir Thorn-Resistant Schrader valve MTB tube (26 x 1.95-2.125) Review

Avenir Thorn-Resistant Schrader valve MTB tube (26 x 1.95-2.125)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Real life story first: I had a staple in my tire that I missed no matter how many times I ran my finger along the inside of the tire and looked at the outside. I burned through 2 "regular" tubes and could not figure out why. I put this tube in and it stayed inflated despite the staple (which I still didn't know was there). It was just by chance that I saw the staple from the outside when I was putting the tire back on with this tube inside and fully inflated. These tubes are excellent! I have been riding for about 9 months since then with zero flats and almost no loss in pressure over time. They are very thick; hence they are heavier than a normal tube. Those of you who measure bike parts in ounces, look elsewhere! Everyone else, enjoy the freedom of riding without flat tires!

ODI Rogue Lock-On Grip - Bonus Pack

I went to a bike shop and saw these on the shelf. They wanted an outrageous amount of money for them so I found them a lot cheaper here. What a great purchase. These grips are super comfy and they won't move around on you (that's why they're lock ons). I mainly do mild downhill and twisty singletrack and these grips perform flawlessly. They're pretty tacky too so you won't loose your grip. Buy 'em, you won't regret it!!

As much as I like standing climbs in my spinning classes, now I also enjoy sitting! This gel seat cover easily fits onto the seat to provide comfort at a VERY reasonable cost. At the end of a ride, my bottom is no longer sore. I have told, and will continue to tell everyone in my spinning classes to purchase this item! I will never ride a bike without this seat cover again!

Schwinn Adult Ergonomic Bicycle Saddle Review

Schwinn Adult Ergonomic Bicycle Saddle
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I had one of these on my road bike for about two years. In that time, I probably rode about 1000 miles, generally doing 10-30 miles/ride.
This seat can be extremely comfortable, and for the price, is definitely a good deal. Most riders will certainly get their money's worth.
Many of the other negative reviews on here describe exactly what I noticed with this seat before I adjusted it properly, which takes a lot of trial and error. Because it is so soft, when you depress it, you don't end up exactly where you expect to, so you may end up aligning it a different position than you think you initially should. For me, I had to tilt it back about 10 degrees from level. After that, it was EXTREMELY comfortable. I can ride 50 miles and feel quite cozy.
The negatives I see with this are durability related. The outer fabric is pretty cheap, and after getting it wet with sweat or rain, it will eventually pull free of the inner, rubberrized layers. You'll start to see "blisters" in the fabric, and soon after, the covering will tear free. I think what causes this is that the Schwinn logo on the side is a bit sticky and will tug on the cover as your shorts slide over it. The other is that the seat is a bit wide for a road bike (good for a mountain bike) which may cause you to pinch the front of the seat with your thighs as you peddle.
If you are looking into other options, I would recommend the Nashbar 2x Sport Saddle for a few dollars more. It is very similar to this one but narrower, more rounded, and more durable. It is however, not as soft as this one, which may be good or bad for you.
In summary:
Pros: This saddle is among the most comfortable you can find for under $75 (once adjusted properly).
Cons: Durability questionable over time. A bit heavy compared to "serious" road bike seats.

Diamondback Overdrive Pro 29'er Mountain Bike (2011 Model, 29-Inch Wheels) Review

Diamondback Overdrive Pro 29'er Mountain Bike (2011 Model, 29-Inch Wheels)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Bought for $825 with free shipping. Good value b/c I did not want to spend a ton of money just to try out the 29'er thing. Glad I paid what I did because this bike is not worth more than that. Good news is that I am glad that I did b/c I love 29ers. The Reba on this bike is the best I have used. It is one of the reasons I purchased the bike. But after 3 months of weekend use I have four problems with te bike. First, the seatpost will not stay up. I even acssembled a worm drive hose clamp under the original clamp for backup. It helped a lot but the seatpost still moves. I think the issue is that the seatpost tube is too large and there is a sloppy fit. Second issue is that the spokes are coming loose. I have many loose spokes on the rear wheel. In the 4 bikes and 11 years of mountain biking i have never seen such a poorly built wheel. The Thudbuster LT takes out a lot of impact on the wheel Third issue is that the rear hub is loose. I thought it was the bearings so I adjusted so there was hardly any clearance left. But the rear wheel still moves side to side after it is installed. Forth issue is that the bearings in the rear wheel are very loud. This makes me concerned that the bearing will self destruct. My plan is to use the factory wheels as a backup and install bike path tires on them. They are up to offroad duty.

I am very pleased with this bike holder. The shipping was quick, and it's free! This is the perfect space saver for a small area. It was very easy to install; it took maybe 10 minutes. You just turn the pole and it secures itself to the ceiling and the floor, screw on the bike rests and you're done! No screws are necessary though the rack does have holes for them should you choose to attach it that way. We have two bikes on it and there's no problem with the weight. If you bump it the bikes will swivel a bit so there is a little give in it. The one piece of advice that I could give is to make sure that you are hitting a beam in the ceiling before you screw it in tightly. We almost made a hole in the ceiling before we checked. Good luck!

I just finished assembling the bike. I love it! I have been looking for a comfy crusier style bike but versitale enough to go from trails to off roading. I biked 1/2 way up my super steep hill with no problem. The set up wasn't too hard. I have never worked on a bike before and with a few tools I was able to but on the front tire, pedals and handle bars. The seat is very comfortable. It was hard to decide on a bike online, but this is definately the right choice.

Topeak Micro Rocket AL MasterBlaster Aluminum Bike Pump Review

Topeak Micro Rocket AL MasterBlaster Aluminum Bike Pump
Average Reviews:

I was not sure about this pump but thought I would give it a try. If you want to keep your bike light this is a very good pump, light and small. I was amazed at how well it worked. I had a pump that is twice as big and worked fine but in comparison was harder to get to higher pressure. The pump would push back making it very hard to get the tire pressure. This pump works as well at low pressure as it does when the pressure gets higher but you will need to do a lot of pumping. It was not to bad getting the tire up to 50psi, getting it to 80psi the palm of my hand was sore from holding the pump still on the valve. Going to 100psi was after a break and did another little jaunt. Getting to 120psi was the same as 100 with the break. The back pressure was not the problem I could take breaks and get the pressure higher. The pump is very good at dealing with back pressure much better then my Michelin and easier at the higher pressure. I could see it living up to Topeaks claim but doubt any one doing it with out it being there job. I used a gauge but on the road I would'nt have the gauge or the patients to do 100 or 120psi on the road.
It is a very light get you back on the road pump. I bought the aluminum for the reason of for only 10 extra grams of weight at half the price.
